Happy Friday!

There was a glitch in sending out this week’s issue, apologies for those that received a “blank” email earlier this morning.

This week’s takes are below, thank you for your patience.
-Brian

Sponsored Take of the Week:
If you've been reading ThisWeekinPRTakes for at least the past month (if not the past year), you know the name Dustin Siggins at Proven Media Solutions. He consistently reminds our community about PR fundamentals, especially how to speak the language of employers and clients to earn trust and create long-term success.

In the second-ever sponsored Take of the Week courtesy of the partnership with PR powerhouse Meredith Klein, Dustin recently put together this take on how in the era of people not trusting authority figures, third-party authors have significant power to bolster a brand.

Resource of the Week:
I don’t know a PR person whose company or client doesn’t want to be in Fast Company, it’s literally a publication about innovation, leadership, design and groundbreaking ideas. I also didn’t know until recently that their EIC posts videos on LinkedIn showing “behind the scenes” at the outlet and is a great resource to learn more about how this publication operates.

Now, onto the rest of the takes:
Media relations
- Shannon wrote about the quick 5 minute hack to increase anyone’s chances of coverage
- Joe provides some great insight into why the same people appear in media coverage (h/t to Joe Overby for sending this!)
- Lucy is spot on with this take about relationships and coverage

PR Misc
- Frederic at The New Stack posed an excellent question about PR at vendor-owned events
- 100% agree with Carly’s take and definition of an exclusive
- Jeromee wrote about recent encounters with PR that both worked and did not work; it’s good food for thought

AI and PR
- Victoria with a great take on AI and thought leadership

That’s it for this week’s takes, thanks for reading.
