This Week in PR Takes - Week 43
Week 43
You may have seen some Beehiiv creators post their Spotify-like year in review, I wanted to share this slide with few stats about what is being built in this community. Earlier this year I realized that I was more apt to comment on a post about LinkedIn than post one myself; and that’s how TWiPRT was born. I couldn’t have imagined the absolute joy this community has brought me this year, and the joy that it brings others when their opinions are deemed insightful. I am deeply thankful for each and every one of you for taking the time to read this each week, I will try to continue to provide value (and not just noise) in 2026 too.

There weren’t any Takes of the Week this week, but plenty of great ones below!
Resource of the Week:
Jason Widup put together a step by step guide to help with brand mentions in LLMs. Given the trend of PR juicing AI and the LLMs, it’s certainly worth a look from this community.
A message from Reportable:
You've seen posts from Reportable here in the past, mostly about their press release distribution service and AI press release generating tool. Did you know they also offer a service-based media monitoring and PR metrics solution and media-rich company newsroom hosting as well?
Contact them here to learn more.
The Rest of the Takes:
PR Misc.
- Recently Allison Braley came out with Ten Commandments for PR, and Daniel came out with a similar take.
- Jon wrote about the importance of freelancers and how they can yield 3-1 opportunities.
- Gab with a very important anecdote around a CCO getting fired
- Do you ever have too many cooks in the PR kitchen? Gabe wrote a take with advice and rules to avoid such a mess.
- Rhiannon wrote that press release pickups don’t provide value, they’re just money-wasters.
- PR is not a magic wand for sales - right on, Shannon!
Media Relations
- Matt Stewart with a nod to the power of the phone when working with reporters, and a special shout out from two Fortune journalists.
- Even if you’re a senior member at a PR firm, you should still be pitching according to Brandon (louder for those in the back!)
- We should all learn from a few reporters that griped , like Samantha getting texted or Sarah’s that literally contained “xx” in it.
That’s it for this week’s takes, thanks for reading.
