This Week in PR Takes - Week 10
Week 10
Take of the Week:
This week’s Take of the Week comes courtesy of Zara Jarvis. Taking a step back from how to do PR, Zara wrote about the advantages of where to do it - Agency or In-house. As someone who has led teams in both settings, I 100% agree with her sentiment that you learn to move quickly at agencies and with more purpose in-house. I would also add that at agencies, PR pros benefit from the crowd of colleagues that understand the value of PR, keep an eye and ear for reporter requests and other agency-wide relevant information. For those in-house, you most certainly dive deep with one company, but at times you may be the only person thinking about PR at that company. This means that as you dive deep into a company’s narrative, there’s usually an internal education component to the job so that others know more about how to work with reporters, podcasters and others.
Chuckle of the Week:
There were no Chuckles of the Week that stood out, but that’s a good thing considering April Fools’ Day was on Tuesday. Nice job everyone!
