Week 47
Hi TWiPRT readers,
We’re fully into 2026 and there’s a ton of takes below. I don’t have much more of an intro to kick it off, so I’ll just say GO PATS!
Take of the Week:
Courtesy of Sarah Mawji, Brenna’s take on the best communications advice of all time is 100% spot on. My favorite grad school professor would say the same thing:
1. tell them what you're going to tell them
2. tell them
3. tell them what you told them
It’s tried and true advice.
Resource of the Week:
Having data is also a tried and true strategy to help tell your story, and Nathan wrote about how to effectively create research that will entice AI search without sacrificing readability.
Source of the Week:
- John Kell at Fortune is looking to learn more from the C-Suite for his CIO Intelligence newsletter
- Diane at PRWeek is looking to highlight case studies that ended no more than three months ago. Go pitch your great work!
A message from Reportable:
Do you have mountains of data from 2025 and limited time to pull your KPIs into a report for clients/leadership? Reportable can work with your pulled articles and curate a custom report to include sentiment, share of voice, key message pull through or other metrics that matter the most.
Think of them like an experienced, on call account coordinator; and TWiPRT readers will see a 10% discount for any engagement in January.

The Rest of the Takes:
PR Misc.
- “Learn the business” is something we hear often; Stephanie wrote about how she spent 65 hours and $300 to learn how to learn the business better
- For those interested in climate communications, LaunchSquad’s Jason Mandell wrote his 2026 predictions for the space
Media
- This could almost be a Take of the Week, should PR people talk about the media in public forms?
- Alysha wrote about the importance of updated headshots and media relations
- Feet may not normally make the 6pm newscast, but Jason wrote about how a podiatrist ended up getting on broadcast news (hint, think about the audience)
Emerging Media
- Dave wrote how “LinkedIn is the new PR channel”
- Similarly, Brandon wrote about the importance of newsletters
- Go sharp and stop chasing mass reach says Julia (agree!)
That’s it for this week’s takes, thanks for reading.
